Piedmont Arts Association in cooperation with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts had the exhibit “Splendors of Ancient Egypt,” and PAA also had “Life and Afterlife: Cycles of Nature and Belief in Ancient Egypt.” There also were several activities related to Egypt going on in the area. At Discover Egypt I, Girl Scouts did face-painting. Dr. Margaret Mayo of the Virginia Museum gave the lecture “Aspects of Ancient Art.” Theatre IV of Richmond performed “The Mystery of the Ancient Egyptian Amulet” at Martinsville Middle School.
