At Kmart you could buy albums for sale at $3.97 to $8.77 and 8-track tapes for $4.97 to $10.47. Musicians included John Denver, Olivia Newton John, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Charlie Daniels, Niel Sedaka, Joe Walsh, Rufus, The Stylistics, Barry White, Bob Dylan, Ramsey Lewis, Tommy, The Guess Who and Ohio Players.

25 years ago - 2000

Lisa P. Hughes was promoted to resident engineer of the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Martinsville office. She was the first woman in the area and only the fourth in the state to be in that role. The graduate of Drewry Mason High School and Old Dominion University is a graduate of Drewry Mason High School and Old Dominion University.
